Allright... To be honest. I don't like the partly B&W partly color photo's in general. I can see why you don't want this to be B&W alone. The vest and the background would blend in too much because of the busy paterns. Maybe a darker background would have been my choice. The composition and the Focus are great and I like the 70's atmosphere it breaths. The subject is nicely looking towards the light wich is creating space in this photo. Well done.

Great combination of patterns, cause they have different colours, everything is black and white, with exception of the jacket. I think it works very well, makes our eyes travel around the photo, always finding new thing to discover.

wow, this is lovely :D

in response to the "improvements" thread:

because of the heavy mid-tones in this piece, the figure and the background don't really separate from one another (the pattern on the wall helps, certainly, but doesn't quite finish the job). i would suggest either playing with the "curves" option in Photoshop to put more emphasis in the shadows and highlights, or perhaps putting the figure and the wall on separate layers and altering them that way.

other than that, i love this concept (and i want that jacket!)

i hope you find this critique helpful :D

Also, this reminds me of the movie Garden State. When Zack Braff stood against the wall with the odd patterned shirt. :lmao:
But it's also a very clear pic. I wish my cam sensor was cleaned so I could take cleaner shots.
